FSC® Certification Breakfast meeting:
“Bridging the Supply-Demand Gap for Sustainable Wood and Wood Products in Uganda”
On Thursday, 26th June 2025, FSC® held a Breakfast meeting at the Golden Tulip Canaan Kampala with the aim to convene key actors across the forest products value chain including producers, processors, buyers, regulators, development partners, and financiers to dialogue, raise awareness, build business linkages, and identify actionable steps to scale up the availability and use of FSC® -certified wood and wood products in Uganda. UTGA certified and prospective members were key actors at the meeting.
The Objectives of the event were to:
• Promote a shared understanding of the benefits, requirements, and opportunities associated with FSC® certification.
• Identify the key barriers and enabling conditions for expanding the supply of sustainable/certified wood and wood products in Uganda.
• Strengthen market linkages between certified producers and potential buyers.
• Generate practical recommendations to bridge the supply-demand gap and enhance
